Yoga and Meditation Biggest Benefit
There are many benefits of yoga and meditation - strength, reduced stress, flexibility, balance, restfullness and even the social aspect of being part of a yoga instructional group.
But there is a yoga and meditation benefit that eclipses all others - peace of mind!
As kids, we are bombarded with media, computer games, an enhanced school system, and ever increasing stimulation causing greater stress, anxiety and overall restlessness in our lives.
As teens, we are under greater peer pressure and pressure to live up the material expectations of our parents - yoga and meditation is an incredible escape, a method to get back some of the peace of mind they are losing.
As young adults, we are under the gun to earn more, look after our aging parents, have kids and run around like crazy with them - all the while living in bigger houses, and having more stuff. Do you think that a couple hours each week of yoga and meditation may help gain back some of that lost peace of mind?
As older adults, we are having to cope with more technology, deal with a faster-paced society, less time for that "personal" touch, losing faith in our younger counterparts and more reliance on bringing up the grand-kids. Many older adults are finding yoga and meditation to be a great way to deal with pressures and that feeling of where to exactly fit into this faster paced society.
So, as you can see, the greatest benefit of all for yoga and meditation is the ability, for all ages, to regain a sense of peace, serenity, peace of mind and an overall feeling of being in control of ourselves again in a society where every day brings an new challenge.
