Basic Equipment You Need For Yoga
To get the incredible relaxation, peace of mind, focus and strength benefits from yoga, you don't need to spend a great deal of money to get setup - that's one of the things I love about yoga.
In fact, I only recommend 3 things when you start out with yoga and meditation:
1. A good yoga video, training guide, or yoga trainer. Its great, today there are some incredible yoga training programs that are both very instructional and very economical. Some people prefer working in a group yoga class while others like the 1 on 1 training of an instructor, yoga book or yoga instructional video. I have learned from all 3, and recommend you simply select 1 to get started right away.
2. Yoga Mat. There are man yoga asanas that are quite demanding on your main joints and bones - a good quality yoga mat will ensure you get the most benefit from your yoga experience without the bumps, bruises, sores and scrapes that you would surely get otherwise. For the small investment in a yoga mat, you will have a crucial piece of yoga equipment that will enhance your overall yoga experience.
3. Yoga Ball. While not absolutely necessary, I have found that many of the yoga asanas that involve a yoga ball are very good for balance and strength conditioning - without the yoga ball, I would not have been able to benefit from these asanas.
So, as you can see, yoga remains one of the few good things in your life you can do without incurring a great startup cost for yoga equipment.
